India Strengthens Global Maritime Partnerships with Hapag-Lloyd

The Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India, signed two MoUs with Hapag-Lloyd AG, Germany, at Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai, in the presence of Hon’ble Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal. The agreements cover reflagging of vessels under the Indian flag and investment in safe and sustainable ship recycling infrastructure in India. The MoUs were signed by Shri Shyam Jagannathan, IAS, Director General of Shipping and Mr Lars Sorensen, Sr Managing Director (Middle East), Hapag-Lloyd AG. The collaboration strengthens India’s global maritime positioning, enhances national fleet capacity and advances environmentally sound ship recycling in line with Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
