Visit to M/s Synergy Shipbuilder and other yards located in Darukhana near Mazgaon Dock area to Strengthen India’s Maritime Ecosystem

On 5 February 2026, officials from the Shipbuilding Cell, Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) visited the Darukhana Shipbuilding Cluster for an on‑ground interaction with cluster association members, shipyard owners, and ancillary industry stakeholders. The visit aimed to understand operational challenges, explore developmental needs, and extend support to strengthen the shipbuilding ecosystem in the region.

The DGS delegation comprised Shri Pradeep Sudhakar K, Chief Ship Surveyor‑cum‑Joint-Director General, @Ravi Kumar Moka, Ship Surveyor‑cum‑Deputy Director General, Shri Nikhil Kumar, Ship Surveyor‑cum‑Deputy Director General, Shri Amal Aloshie Vithayathil (IRS), Shri Rohit Tagade (IRS), Shri Amit Dethe (PMU) and Shri Anup Sahu (Assistant). The team engaged in detailed discussions with the shipyards  to identify areas requiring regulatory facilitation, skill enhancement, infrastructure augmentation, and industry‑focused policy support.

This outreach is part of DGS’s continued efforts to collaborate closely with domestic shipyards and ancillary units, ensuring that the sector remains competitive, resilient, and aligned with the long‑term vision of Maritime India Vision 2030. Strengthening traditional shipbuilding hubs like Darukhana is vital to enhancing local capacity, fostering innovation, and supporting sustainable maritime growth.
